Workfront was founded in 2001 by Jason Fletcher, Abe Knell, and Scott Johnson under the name AtTask until the company rebranded in 2015. The company is headquartered in Lehi, Utah and is currently led by CEO Shantanu Narayen since its acquisition by Adobe in November of 2020. Today the company is officially announcing how it intends to use it. Originally the software was created for use by SMEs but over the years they adapted and developed the software to also facilitate the management of larger companies. Five months ago, Adobe purchased (for 1.5 billion) Workfront, a company that helps build marketing department workflows. They offer a project portfolio management software in addition to their team management tools. Workfront has 1000's of corporate clients and hundreds of thousands of individual users. The software has been utilized by many companies including Adobe, Cisco, HBO, Kellogg’s, House of Blues, REI, Trek, Schneider Electric, Tommy Hilfiger, Disney, and ATB Financial. Workfront is designed to create visibility and manage tasks within teams, as well as track issues and streamline business processes. Workfront is a cloud-based enterprise management software designed as a solution for marketing teams, creative agencies, and other enterprise teams.
